another Удар, this time from nearby Saint Peterburg. They released one demo (magnitoalbum?) in 1987. There are a few more info but just one song floating on YT which is not really metal (more hard rock) but I wonder if other songs can be better.

Yeah, thanks. The production is horrible. Except for the first song, which is almost heavy metal, other songs range from progressive rock to rock semi-ballads to one song (Боль) which is almost nonsense. I don't think they can be submitted

Here is the list of bands that weren't looked up yet on Discogs - just in case anyone feels like checking the rest. There were some good finds recently by looking things up on there.
https://imgur.com/a/6wKBonq

Magic Theatre - country is UK, and Discogs can be marked 'yes'. I added the link to the original post.

I checked all the bands on the list during my research. I guess Azmodes hasn't had enough time to update the rest of the list yet. They're all listed on page 146. All bands before P were, by my guess, marked with '?' because it's unsure whether or not they're the band in question.

I came across this Youtube channel with bands from Central Asia.

There may be some groups to check....

Crash:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mdTxlur2OY

Polygon:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3dICSys7tA

Forrest Gump (thrash metal from Tashkent, not the hard rock band from Alma-Ata): it sems their first demo "День света" (1999, 15 tx) is thrash/speed. Here there should be their 2nd demo 2002 titled "Реквием":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2TtSi6hEpk&t=15s
http://uzrock.net/Groups/forrest.html

Diqqat (black metal, but there's a live recording only. Don't know if they ever released something):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY8v4STkWE8

Conquistador: (it seems they were already active in 1991 and released a few album):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv-zmz_LPHk
https://vk.com/albums-49739646
https://vk.com/audios-49739646

Lazybones:

Dissentient:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr4YM0bTKO0

Gekatha:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz1VZcKVBjg

one live 1991 by Flight 09 / Рейс - 09 which sounds definitively metal (need to find the first 1-2 albums):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EOSxqNYusQ

Психоделия:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dldjptbuoZ8

Ad Libitum:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJnIK9M5Ba8

Шторм:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1auY42cMHE&t=8s

maybe Skenb:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NTdLJNI5A8

maybe Titus:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxBjzdzm888

plus a couple of very borderline rock bands with some interesting moments:

Стадион with their S/T album and the following "Ветер перемен" :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoIBQxDttfg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyYy2OYaRWk

Континент:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G6FiGOeEGw

There could be more to check in that channel

Rattlehead (Pennsylvania, US) were recently given a Discogs entry. They're on the research list.

Burning Fantasy were from the UK, and were recently given a Discogs entry:

White Speed were from the UK (Reading). https://imgur.com/a/pRpI6ND

Needs research. - Frenchy
- one heavy metal/hard rock, one rock song (per Corroseum review) on the single from 1982.
https://www.discogs.com/release/1333480 ... -The-Truth
https://soundcloud.com/user-647836362/tell-the-truth
- seeking audio for "Storm Cloud" / "Hurry" 7", the only other known release.
https://www.discogs.com/release/2180611 ... loud-Hurry
- If moderators think that the song "Tell the Truth" isn't heavy enough for the site, probably not worth pursuing. I'd say it has a chance but is a bit borderline. Whether it belongs on the site depends on how the other single is if the other one is considered metal enough.

Never got a word back on this one. I know there's no owners, but that could be likely given the release nature. Still I'm not so knowledgeable with USSR, eastern bloc bands.

From metalrus forum

"My two friends worked for them in 1982-83 as workers. But they were called Heavy Metal back then.
I was at rehearsals. Zhenya was a super guitarist for that time.
The group is very interesting and unique. There were reels copied from them themselves.
I listened. We didn't play like that at that time. Cruise was probably the first to play in 1987.
It seems like they worked at one time as an opening act for Alexander Gradsky."

"The group is rumored to be from Kyiv, Lesnoy district. It was no longer possible to find out the fate of the participants back in the early 90s. As I was told (a reliable source), I had the original on a “small” reel (in Kyiv) - over time, that recording fell out. The rest that came across were clones from that tape. It won't be better in nature!"

"Thank you very much for the concert album, I listened to “Vampires and Ghouls” to pieces at one time."

I'm gonna piecemeal the T's in Ondes Chocs for now since the queue is nearly full.

T.O.M.: Two singles on bandcamp with a combined length of about 2 1/2 minutes. Grindcore that sounds more punky/bouncy.
https://tom-terreurorgiemassacre.bandcamp.com/music

Tapage: Has a full album on CD, but needs samples. There are some on the facebook, but more would be preferable.
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057261865784

Terminal Phase: Dead facebook, reverbnation has nothing on it. Probably live only.
https://www.youtube.com/@Daimon0666/sea ... al%20phase

The Anatomy of Violence: Has an album on soundcloud. Will see if it was ever released elsewhere. If not, no vr.
https://soundcloud.com/poisonoath

The Babyface Nelsons: Not metal.
https://thebabyfacenelsons.bandcamp.com/album/ep-2014

The End Came First: Teased an ep but it never seemed to come out, leaving two singles on bandcamp with identical artwork. No vr.

Needs research. - Atomic on Rush
Location: Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
Described genre: "The be-all-end-all of heavy metal" (by the band themselves), Tight and classy heavy metal (by a 'zine or other source)
Band members: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ter/219009 (vocals)
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... unde/75724 (guitars)
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... mann/75732 (drums)
Guido Jabgui (guitars)
Dirk Distelhorst (bass)
Discography: Unknown, but they planned to do a demo in late 1983 to include songs "Door to Hell" and "Stalingrad". The latter was recorded for the 1988 Danton "Way of Destiny" LP, which featured 2 ex-Atomic on Rush members.
Band photo: https://imgur.com/a/0FkwmYi
Thanks a lot to The Corroseum for the above information.

Added. - Crossroads
Spoiler: show
Location: US
https://www.discogs.com/release/6470390 ... st-Hostage (sold at shows)
https://thecorroseum.org/features/north ... /index.php
(review here: "Most likely a highschool band with a very MITHRANDIR- or VHF-esque singer, meaning it sounds like a kid singing. But this ain't no lightweight "Dreamers of Fortune", far from it. Instead, heavy riffs abound and the lyrics are all about the Devil or the Land of the Dead. As a matter of fact, both the music and the lyrics absolutely rip, so next time you're in the mood of getting sonically crushed by an adolescent, make sure to give this a spin.")
- May be enough for a submission, and if not here it is in need of audio.

Sorry, only got around to update the list today. Huge backlog, so I hope I got everything that had accumulated. There's probably more to remove from the to-Discogs list; let me know.

Still need to go through balda's post from Nov 5th.

Outcry says "Christian Hardcore", the other is empty. Both are from 2012 or likely older (no date).

Thanks. The Outcry that's blacklisted is probably this Ohio band then: https://outcry-hopeforthetornheart.band ... torn-heart , and it's doubtful that the blacklisted Majesty is this very obscure one. Left a note in the original post with that information.

2 small updates, if possible:
Milky Filth - VR can be marked as 'yes' - https://imgur.com/a/b5x62Xu
Wildfire (uk) - 'yes' for samples, though needs more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX-DkC2k0Kc
Spoiler: show
(to save a step in the process later, their blacklisting can be removed since the reason for it was that their only release previously was a song on a split that had been previously released under a different name (present on the site). Had put the blacklisting in personally a while ago to avoid confusion, but have had difficulty getting someone to remove it: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=140525 ). Hopefully someone will acquire the CD soon. In the meantime, this is unnecessarily blocked off from someone being able to submit that may not be familiar with the blacklisting process.
- This is now taken care of. Appreciated!

Thanks again.

Milky Filth corrected. The other one was intentional, as the samples column implies sufficient samples.

Added the US Dark Covenant after finding the two songs from the tape/sampler on Slsk.

There are still a few stragglers, no worries. The following bands can be removed.

HWG: Got added.
Ammunition: Got added

Eldritch Flamethrower: No vr.

KARDANNUI VAL/Карданный Вал: These two are the same band. Spooky linked about them earlier, and they have a discogs page.

G.O.M., I didn't sign up for Spotify for a while and didn't want to, but it might be worth it for all of the bands that you're checking out in this thread. It's free to stream music on there (unless you sign up for some kind of premium account), and sometimes is more convenient than YouTube because once you're signed in the music doesn't lag, and there are less commercials even with a free account than what YT has going these days. Haven't come across any drawbacks since registering to be able to stream for free a couple years ago. The only 2 things that make it not as good as Bandcamp in my opinion are that a lot of bands with the same name are merged together incorrectly, and that you have to sign in (takes 10 seconds, but still prefer not to have to).

Fair point! I went ahead and listened to the two tracks. The shorter, three minute one is ambient/acoustic with no metal. The longer, nine minute track sounds like raw depressive black metal, but borders on just distorted guitars with shrieks. Is this even VR if one track is metal? Probably not.

Charisma, from the old v1 research list can be removed in my opinion. It says possibly a band related to Lemur Voice (not a common phrase, but most or all Google search results bring up the band). I've done several searches recently, including the band name with every Lemur Voice member, and it returned nothing. Has been on the research list with no vr for over 5 years. If not related to Lemur Voice, too vague and not enough to go on. Should be safe to remove and keep others from wasting more time on it.

Genre: Thrash Metal
Band members: - Steve Learned: guitars (also played in Wyred, Shakey Jake, Pheadbac)
- Joe: vocals ( https://www.reverbnation.com/musician/465364 )
Discography: Unknown, but at least 7 downloadable songs on Steve's ReverbNation page are from this band, and are solid thrash metal: "Euphoria Revised", "Spider", "Executioners Song", "Lunas Warning", "Saintans Pit", "Revolving Head", "Innocence". Fools (France) can be removed. Confirmed from this 'zine ( https://thecorroseum.org/fanzines/metal_instinct-01.php ) that the tape shown in the picture is this band, which are far from metal:

Revenge from the Amethyst List can be removed. Turned out to be an Italian band that are already listed on the site. Not sure why I had it marked as UK, but checking back to the original blog page there isn't a listed country. Thanks.

Åkes Orgasm from Neseblod list - nothing to be found, even on the archived versions of links that were left which still work. Listed for 8 years with no further leads, and apparently the original list had typos. Can't see it being worth keeping around at this point.

More information about bands on the Neseblod list - these release titles were never posted in the thread, and come directly from the old page, original source.

Avadon - Promo 96
Aya (Norway) - Fairytales demo '95 (additional info link in research list currently can be removed, and a link to this post placed there instead. Country can be updated.)
Black Leather Metal - Demo 96
Dimension Frost "Plutonium 239"
Face The Reality - "Don't Believe the Hype" tape (1996)
I Ruinerna Av Mig Själv - self-titled
Menadel - "Magique poindre orginal demo tape 2 in one"
Mystical Noise - Demo/Rehearsal
Phlegma - the one on the Neseblod list did a split tape with https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Argos/77150 in 1991, and are probably from Costa Rica.

Plutonium 239 - "To Kill, To Conquer"
Psalm=1 - self-titled
Shadow Minion - "As God's Light Fades"
Stanka - "Stal Przernta Na Nowo"
The Gargoyles - "Grotesquri" demo (1993) - (the current 'additional note' link on the main list can be removed, and replaced with a link to this post)

It would probably be a good time to remove Wynter from the research list. Title given on the old Neseblod site is just "Demo" - too vague, and it's been looked into several times already. Nothing ever found. Has been on the research list for over 8 years with nothing further found.
May not be a bad idea to also remove Psalm=1. Self-titled isn't much of a title to go off of, and google searches bring up thousands of bible-related results. Would be difficult to sift through all of that to find this needle in a haystack.

Additional info links currently on the main list for Avadon and R.A.S. can be removed (Avadon link can be replaced with a link to this post, since "Promo 96" title is here). Those notes were made when I couldn't access the archive of the Neseblod list (it only works sometimes on this computer).

Tetragramaton could be added as a possible corrected (secondary) name of Tstragramaton - the latter doesn't return any results, and seems unlikely to be the correct name, while Tetragramaton is a more common word. 's' key is near 'e', and it was probably a typo.

There's a blacklisted 'Rags' from the US. I listened to some of this album and it sounds like rock.

MySpace page for Sky Minus Satellite (located in Hubbard, Ohio) -
https://myspace.com/skyminussatellite (7 song titles listed here that were once available for streaming: "Caught", "Deep Down Inside", "St. Suicide", "Public Mockery", "Fairytales", "Newday!", "Ringworm").
The band Kitchen Knife Conspiracy (listed on M.A. - https://www.facebook.com/kitchenknifeconspiracy ), also from Ohio, is their only 'top friend' left with an existing page. Maybe members of that band recall who played in S.M.S.

Sixty Nine (US) - they appeared on some compilations, and 2 of their 3 demo songs can be heard here. Probably more rock than metal.
"Tearin' My Heart" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfIMFGMQXNM
"Sunset Nights" is track 10 here: https://archive.org/details/metal-madne ... +One+(1985)

This Discogs user has at least one thing in his collection that is on the research list (Pennance (US) - demo 1985), and trades in digital format. I did a small trade with him before and was going to do a followup, but am running kind of low on time for that now. If anyone feels like looking through to see what is needed that's in his collection list and are able to work out a digital trade (his want list is also on Discogs), that would be cool. If you don't have much on his want list, but want to help by getting a list of titles that we could use in here, let me know and I'll try to work something out with him.
