Oh no! You didn't get rid of that awesome poem did you? That was one of the best reviews on this site!

I agree. The review is utter genius as it has more artistic merit than the album being reviewed.

I see that review's debate lives on.

Bundle the 'real' review and the poem together. I want the poem!

The poem was an entertaining read and it was well written. it just did not rally serve the purpose of a review. If you took the musical description out of the poem then you would be left with about 3 or 4 lines from what I can recall.

Anyone can write a halfway decent review that describes the music, but few can write a poem that long and funny. (And if any of you can, go for it, the reviews for some albums could use the variety).

No offense to the author of that poemreview, that wasn't my intent. I wasn't saying it was "bad", I was saying it had no place on this site. I read it and could barely figure out what the hell you were talking about. Funny? Maybe to those that got it. Not a review, though.

Is it just me, or is Noktorn gradually getting pretty good in reviewing?

Don't encourage him. He's over twenty reviews ahead of me in the race for the reviewer top ten in the site stats.

Go, Noktorn, go! Run, Forest, run! :D

Meh. If Technogoat keeps submitting reviews at his current pace all the way through the alphabet, it won't matter. You'll be a step further from the top 10 anyway.

Maybe Morrigan could compile a list of everybody with more than 20 reviews or so? It would be interesting.

Currently I'm at 97, in a few hours I'll be at 102. A few more are half-done as well, should make good progress soon.

If I reported half of Snxke's ever-sucky reviews in the oven fodder thread, I could even that out though

technogoat may be like erinfox, submit like 140 in one day, and then never be seen again...

EARTH'S LAST PICTURE DRAGS ON WITHOUT DIRECTION?????

He's a heretic, that's what he is! I should kick him in the nuts for such blasphemy! It's one of the goddamn best Darkthrone songs ever!

That is actually apt to be the case. All of his reviews are done for another site, and it's likely that he has a stockpile of them.

Yes, I noticed. But he only made it to G today, and that means there are probably close to 100 of them in that stockpile.

I liked his reviews.

I'm very sorry, but we cannot approve any of them. You see, it's for the common good, you might accidentally catch up with droneriot in the number of reviews, and we cannot have that happen. I'm sure you understand, it's better this way for everybody involved. :D

BTW, did you get those Blake albums already?

Absolutely! Hm, I haven't read any of this guy's stuff yet. I see from the recent submissions that he really likes Norwegian black metal, but most of these albums already have a plenitude of reviews.

Thanks for the words, guys. I'm going to do one for 'The Stench Of Redemption', but first I'm working through all the stuff I've requested from underground bands. I'm doing these high-profile albums because www.epinions.com (which I repost a lot of stuff to) pays you for reviews and is running a '$10 for 10 reviews' deal these days.

Bash, thanks for finally contributing something negative about Amon Amarth. I congratulate you for not only writing a good negative review but for having the attention span and fortitude to stick with and review such a boring band.

Bash is good whenever he decides to review something. Which is lamentably rare, I think.

His Ocean Machine review made buy my first Devin Townsend album. I must thank him for that.

Thanks. The reason I rarely get any reviews done is that I rarely feel like writing any and when I do I often leave my reviews unfinished. I have a bunch of "first paragraphs" on my computer that I never end up following up on. Obviously I have the shortest attention span in the world. An exception is the Tarot review I submitted earlier today. I started it around two months ago but since it was only missing the ending paragraph I quickly wrote it in and even though it ended up quite disjointed I submitted it anyway.

I've been meaning to fix the typo's in the Townsend review but I never got around to it. Keep on checking the other albums too if you ever get the urge as you can't really go wrong with his stuff. Except for Physicist, even though I enjoy it, it is quite an acquired taste.

Man, I could never do that. When I do reviews, it's not like I do it based off 'inspiration' like other people apparently do- I just sit down, turn the album on in Itunes, and write it. Probably results in less amazing and intriguing reviews, but it's how I do it.

Droneriot's new Gorgoroth reviews, particularly the ones for "Under the Sign of Hell" and "Insipit Satan" are definitely a pleasure to read and really inspire me to listen to the band more!
